Our thrift shop is a vital part of the James Bay United Church community, providing affordable goods to the neighborhood and raising funds to support various church ministries. However, to keep everything running smoothly, we need the help of dedicated volunteers, especially when our regular team members are away.

How You Can Help:

From September 16th to November 3rd, we need volunteers who can assist with a simple yet crucial task—picking up boxes of unsellable donations from the thrift shop and delivering them to Value Village. This task makes a world of difference for the volunteers who work tirelessly at the shop, helping keep the space organized and efficient.

Here’s what’s involved:

  • Climb stairs to collect the boxes.
  • Pick up boxes weekly from the thrift shop.
  • Drive from James Bay to Value Village (a short drive).
  • Upon arrival, the friendly staff at Value Village will be happy to assist you.

This role requires a maximum of 1 hour a week and is a perfect opportunity for anyone who can lend some time to support the ongoing efforts of the thrift shop team. Your help will allow the regular volunteers to focus on keeping the shop welcoming and organized for everyone who visits.
