James Bay United Church is looking for a skilled and collaborative Office Manager to support the ongoing operations of our vibrant and welcoming community.
Located in the heart of Victoria’s James Bay neighbourhood, our church is a hub of spiritual growth, community service, and social action. With the support of an experienced bookkeeper and dedicated volunteers, the Office Manager will help strengthen and streamline the administrative and financial life of the church.
This part-time role (12–18 hours/week) offers flexibility, a supportive work environment, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Compensation starts at $30/hour, with eligibility for benefits and pension through The United Church of Canada.
The role includes:
Supervising the bookkeeper and office administrator
Managing financial practices, reporting, and oversight
Coordinating policies, procedures, and grant support
Collaborating closely with church staff, board, and volunteers
Ensuring our mission is supported through sustainable, transparent practices
Ideal candidates will bring strong analytical skills, experience with Sage accounting and ADP payroll systems, and a love for working in community with others.
