Reconciling with Indigenous Peoples and the Land is an interfaith endeavour focusing on:
a) education and action to uphold Indigenous rights and sovereignty on Vancouver Island
b) living out our treaty responsibilities as settlers, and
c) building relationships with Indigenous communities, land and waters.
Be it with those Nations under the Douglas Treaties or those in other unceded territories on Vancouver Island, we are committed to offer educational programs and respond to Indigenous struggles that assert Indigenous rights and sovereignty. In supporting Indigenous laws and protocols that protect the Land and Waters, we center this on work that offers sustainable futures for all beings. Guided by TRC Calls to Action and the principles of Land Back we take direction from the Indigenous Peoples who are organizing to protect the Land and Waters in their territories.
