Wednesday mornings from 9 - 10:25AM in the lower hall Qigong class with Curtis Nadj 

Beginning May 7, 2025: Weekly Qigong Classes at JBUC

A weekly course of cultivation, theory, and—most importantly—practice in basic Qigong methods, held at James Bay United Church.

Each class will be approximately 90 minutes in length. During that time, we’ll explore five foundational practices designed to integrate body, breath, and mind:

  • Walking meditation

  • Body loosening and lengthening

  • Stretching and strengthening methods

  • Healing sounds

  • Self-massage

The course is designed to build gradually. Each week, we’ll introduce a simple element of each practice, allowing you to learn, review, and grow your practice steadily. By the end, participants will have experienced and developed a complete five-part routine to support health and wellbeing.

These classes are open to anyone—whether you’re seeking improved general health, are on a healing journey, or are looking for renewed vitality and strength in daily life. The best way to learn more? Come and try it out!

What to Bring:

  • Comfortable clothing for free movement

  • Indoor athletic footwear (to change into upon arrival)

  • A water bottle

  • A notebook and pen

  • An open mind

Please help us maintain a scent-free environment, as some participants are sensitive to strong odours and fragrances.

Details:

  • Ongoing class: suitable for beginners and those with limited experience

  • Cost: $45/month (please bring cash in a labelled envelope at the first class of the month; the envelope will be returned to you for reuse)

  • Drop-ins: $15 per class (not ideal for student progress, but welcome as needed)

Location:
Classes take place in the lower hall of James Bay United Church, 511 Michigan St., Victoria. Please enter through the south side of the building and change your shoes once inside.
