Rev. Greg was ordained in 2014 while serving the United Church congregation in Castlegar, BC. Before pursuing the call to ministry, Greg trained as an environmental engineer and worked in the environmental non-profit sector for several years.
Immediately before joining us at James Bay UC, Greg started the Westshore Community of Practice as a plant of the United Church of Canada. There, he focused on initiatives like Campfire Church, Contemplate Day-hikes, and Child-friendly Contemplative Walks. He also started a YouTube channel where he and his daughter teach spiritual practices.
Greg has coached his son in ball hockey and the local high school's ultimate frisbee team. He runs a marathon every year and cycle commutes to James Bay from his home in Metchosin to stay healthy.
Current lines of inquiry include, "How do we find deep belonging?", "How do we nurture meaning in our lives?", and "Just how active is the grace of God?" You'll hear these woven through worship and sermons.
Greg is with James Bay UC on a three-quarters time basis, which leaves him time for prison chaplaincy and youth ministry in Metchosin.
Feel free to connect with Greg anytime!
