Ignatian Meditation

Ignatian Meditation

A Spiritual Journey Through Lent

Ignatian Meditation is a way to enter into the biblical story of Jesus’ journey—through Lent to Good Friday and Easter. Each week there will be two Gospel readings—one from the upcoming Sunday service and the other on Wednesday.

If you find yourself challenged by these readings, consider reaching out to a friend for discussion. Members of the Worship Team are also available at worship@jamesbayunited.com if you would like to talk.

Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday

April 17, 7pm

On Maundy Thursday at 7pm (in-person only), we remember the final meal Jesus shared with his disciples before his execution. In this intimate and moving service, we gather for a simple supper, take part in the ritual washing of feet or hands, and unadorn the sanctuary, leaving it bare in preparation for Good Friday.

A Poem for Good Friday

A Poem for Good Friday

and Looking Toward Easter Sunday

This powerful poem, Paradise Today, invites us into the mystery of Good Friday — where even in the depth of suffering and forsakenness, compassion, grace, and the promise of paradise shine through.

As we move through Holy Week, may these words ground us in the presence of resurrection already unfolding.

Special Performances for Good Friday & Easter

We are blessed with a rich music ministry through Jennifer Turner and thankful for the beautiful special classical offerings she brings to enhance our services. Here is a sample of Jennifer and Collaborative Pianist Robert Holliston from their recent recital at James Bay United. We look forward to hearing them next week along with other guests, Martin Bonham (cello) Hanne Fair (flute) and our worship choir, on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
