Ignatian Meditation

Ignatian Meditation

A Spiritual Journey Through Lent

Ignatian Meditation is a way to enter into the biblical story of Jesus’ journey—through Lent to Good Friday and Easter. Each week there will be two Gospel readings—one from the upcoming Sunday service and the other on Wednesday.

If you find yourself challenged by these readings, consider reaching out to a friend for discussion. Members of the Worship Team are also available at worship@jamesbayunited.com if you would like to talk.

Blessed is the One

Blessed is the One

Poem by Jan L. Richardson

Blessed is the One
who comes to us
by the way of love
poured out with abandon.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday

April 13, 10:15am

This week we will gather at 10:15 for songs and rituals outside on the front patio by our sign. Just as Jesus’ disciples did so long ago outside of the gates of Jerusalem we will plan, conspire, weep, sing and prepare ourselves for the countercultural procession into the city (the church). Bringing a radical message of justice, kindness and love can be scary and yet we do it waving palm branches not ensigns of war, riding on our humble beast singing hosannas!

Nathan and Jamie are already conspiring to make sure that the outside portion of our service is broadcast on our live-stream Note: there may be a 60 second (approx) break between the outside live-stream and the inside one … do not adjust your sets.

An Invitation to Wonder

An Invitation to Wonder

"When was the last time you stood barefoot on earth and recognized it as holy ground?" A gentle invitation from our front lawn to pause, connect, and remember the sacredness woven into the everyday.

Special Music for Holy Week

Special Music for Holy Week

We’re delighted to share that both our Good Friday and Easter Sunday services will feature beautiful music and guest musicians.

On Good Friday, pianist Robert Holliston and cellist Martin Bonham will join us. Jennifer Turner will offer solo music, and the choir will contribute to this reflective service.

On Easter Sunday, we welcome Robert Holliston again on piano, joined by flutist Hanne Fair. Jennifer will sing, and the choir will be featured as we celebrate the joy of resurrection together.

Come and experience the depth and beauty these musical offerings bring to our Holy Week worship.
