As usual, a significant part of the Board meeting was related to the financial operations of the church. Treasurer Cheryl Caldwell and Administrator Vanya Smith have done much to keep the financial matters in hand. The Board has sent in an application for the Federal Loan program. The Trustees approved the loan application as did the Pacific Mountain Regional Council. You will hear more when we know whether the application is successful.
We are looking forward to Gordon’s return to work once he is well enough. It will be a gradual easing back into things.
The Thrift Shop has done a fabulous job of re-opening. Their safety protocols are impeccable, and their volunteers are very happy to be back sharing time and resources with their clientele.
After discussion with the Trustees and Worship Team, the Board moved to eliminate the pews from the open area of the sanctuary. This will allow the space to be used in a variety of ways for small worship groups and other small group activities with the appropriate physical distancing. The pews will be sold.
The Board has worked hard over the period of COVID-19, with the fruits of that work coming to life with new potential uses for the sanctuary space and much hope for fall programs.
