We’re thrilled to welcome the Andrew Greenwood Quartet to Tuesday Night Jazz at the Church! On this special evening, renowned young tenor saxophonist Andrew Greenwood will grace our stage with his stellar quartet. Andrew, a talented saxophonist, performer, bandleader, composer, and educator, brings a rich musical heritage and impressive credentials, including studies with the legendary Pat LaBarbera. Having made a name for himself in Victoria with original projects and tribute concerts, Andrew is joined by the exceptional Owen Chow on trumpet, the esteemed Dr. Tony Genge on organ, and the dynamic Kelby MacNayr on drums.

SYJ Children’s Choruses (formerly the James Bay Children’s Chorus) was formed in September 2017 with a goal of providing a non-auditioned, affordable community choir for children and youth. Through weekly rehearsals and several performance opportunities during the year, these children learn musical and life skills. They learn to cooperate as a group, encouraging and motivating each other to reach their potential. Singers learn vocal technique, music reading skills, solfege, and performance and listening skills. Our super fun rehearsals include music games and activities, age-appropriate songs, and percussion instruments.

the Inspire Program, (ages 6-11) rehearses from 3:45pm to 4:45pm on Thursdays. 

the Emerge Program, (ages 11-16) rehearses from 5pm to 6pm on Thursday evenings.

Starting September 9th, 2024, we meet on Mondays from 7 to 9 PM at 1355 Mitchell St., Oak Bay.
