God of the heart’s true rest,
you know our need for safety, for shelter from the storm,
for spaces and places that allow us to simply be --
to be at ease, to be without fear, to be well,
to be at home in the world.
As we pray for unhoused people in our city,
let the urgency of their need
deepen in us what it means to be neighbours.
Open our ears, open our hearts
to the cries for help, for hope, for home.
And show us, inspire us,
guide us, move us together
in ways that make for life!
As you make room for us all in the shelter of your love,
grant us the grace to make room for one another
here and now, in our time, in this place.
