Rev. Joan Scandrett will be in James Bay two half days per week, available for pastoral care and administrative guidance, to convene a mid-week conversation, lead worship two of the Sundays, and to touch base with our guest preacher and lay leaders for the other two Sundays.
Rev. Sharon Moon will be in James Bay one half day each week, available for pastoral care and administrative guidance. She will also be a key part of the planning and leadership for a special weekly evening worship series.
The first of five evening services will happen on Saturday June 30 (to avoid the road blocks in James Bay associated with July 1st festivities). All the rest will be Sunday evening. Beginning at 7pm these services will be different in form and style to our regular Sunday morning services, opening doors to people who may presume Sunday morning church isn't for them. Music will be a special ingredient each week and an integral part of exploring the evening's theme. The musicians and the kind of music will vary from one week to the next. Along with scripture, reflection and prayer, you can anticipate a fresh and soulful experience. This series is planned with an awareness of the special quality of summer evenings -- the lingering light and warmth that invites us out, lending an ease for connection.
Stay tuned for the specifics about each evening.
Rev's Duncan and Beverley McLean will be available for pastoral care and administrative guidance, and to be part of worship leadership for the first three Sundays in August.
Worship services through August begin at 10:15 am
