Good afternoon, James Bay United Church,
As the afternoon brightens and the temperature rises, we’re on our way to a wonderful day for our congregational picnic tomorrow. In case you need any reminding ... Beacon Hill Park, across from the Petting Zoo, beside the Rose Garden, at 11:30 am. Bring along a lawn chair or blanket, sun hat and sunscreen, and some picnic food to share. Along with food, there will be fun and games. Leyla is so looking forward so joining us ... and may even introduce us to some new games. She’s already had a sneak preview of some of our tried and true, and can’t wait to see it all in action ... let alone dive in herself.
It’s been a while since I’ve reminded us of our on-line photo directory. If you are part of the James Bay congregation, haven't yet signed on and would like to be in the directory,
please be in touch with me. It's a great community building tool and provides an easy way to be in touch with each other.
Speaking of our website, Nola would love to have an on-going collection of photos of congregational events to be able to post on the website ... to show something of our life together. Given how close at hand cameras are these days, we could probably capture some great moments. Simply let folks know you are taking a picture that may appear on our website, and if they don’t want to be in it, they can step aside. Hopefully someone will still be left standing! Send the picture along to
Nola with a quick note as to what the occasion is. Tomorrow’s picnic will be a great place to begin ... so add your phone to the list of things to bring along. Just think – your cousins in Norway will be amazed to see you running with that spoon in your mouth ... hey look, that person beside you has an egg on theirs.
Looking forward to meeting you at the races. Oh, and on Sunday morning too ... Just remember, you have to be present to win!
Grace and Peace,
Karen
