Are you a tech-savvy individual with a passion for video production and live-streaming? James Bay United Church is hiring a Video Technician to help us bring our Sunday Services to life, both in person and online. This part-time opportunity is perfect for someone looking to gain hands-on experience while making a meaningful contribution to our community.

Location: 511 Michigan Street, Victoria, BC
Pay: From $25 per hour
Schedule: Sundays, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Start Date: January 5, 2025

What You’ll Do:

• Collaborate with the Audio Technician to set up and operate our sanctuary’s A-V system.
• Use tools like Open Broadcast Software (OBS) to livestream services to YouTube.
• Assist with camera operation, positioning, and troubleshooting equipment.
• Train volunteers to operate video equipment effectively.
• Attend occasional staff meetings and provide recommendations for equipment upgrades.
• Stay informed on industry trends and suggest innovative ideas.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience with live-streaming (YouTube preferred) and camera operation.
• Familiarity with OBS or similar broadcasting software.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate openly.
• Availability for Sunday mornings with limited flexibility.
