Dear friends of the James Bay Refugee Initiative –
James Bay United Church has recently hired two young Syrian newcomers (Spring and Ahmad) as part time janitors. They are hard working, responsible, and eager, and because they put their families’ welfare first, often hungry...
Their government sponsorship will soon come to an end. Because they are committed to supporting their families and to furthering their education, they are eager to find more work. Spring and Ahmad have done many kinds of jobs - cooking and baking, cleaning, auto and bike repair, and are willing to try almost anything. They are lovely human beings who want so badly to make a life in this new country for which they are both so profoundly grateful.
If you, or anyone you know has any kind of work for them, please let me know and I will be in touch with them. They come with references from the Inter-Cultural Association and also from James Bay United Church.
With great thanks,
Aleksa Harkness
