Good news from the James Bay Refugee Initiative!

To all you Patient People, We have good news at last!

It has been a long and often discouraging wait for the James Bay Refugee Initiative, and it looks as though we are almost certainly moving into the next phase. The refugee we are sponsoring has passed security, criminal and medical screening and is now just waiting for an exit visa from the country in which has been staying. 

She is a 25 year old woman from Syria whose chances of success in Canada are high. Soon, we trust, she will step off a plane at Victoria International  Airport and begin her life as a newcomer and permanent resident in  Canada.  We are told she speaks some English and  has done academic work at a college.

We are enormously grateful for the support you have offered the James Bay Refugee Initiative and hope you will continue to support our efforts to bring a family to Victoria. With our great thanks,
