A Taste of Palestine

As you may know, there is an ongoing need to support Amal Alhaddad’s family, who has been grappling with the impacts of the genocide in Gaza since October 7th. We offer that support in various ways, but financial resources are what Amal especially needs at this time. She and her friends have graciously offered to prepare another delicious Palestinian dinner (with meat and vegetarian options) and hope her supporters, as well as those who long for peace in Palestine/Israel, will respond generously in return.

The sponsors of this dinner, the PalSol Collective, believe that when a community gathers to break bread together, an energy is created that opens hearts and minds, building a network of support in all the ways that truly matter.

Here are the details about Sunday’s dinner:

When: Sunday, August 18th. Doors open at 4:30 pm. Dinner will be served buffet-style beginning at 5 pm.

Where: Broad View United, 3703 Saint Aidans Street, Victoria, BC.
Parking is available in the church parking lot, as well as in the shopping centre parking lots located a block away on Shelbourne. Enter the church using the door off the parking lot, and you will be directed to the right place.

Suggested cost per person: $20-$50 (sliding scale)

Send your donation by e-transfer to Mai at: maisalem7257@gmail.com. Please be sure to indicate in the message part of your e-transfer: "DINNER" and the number of people you are bringing. Can’t make the dinner but still want a taste of Palestine? Amal will pre-package some dinners and have them ready for pick-up at the entry door off the church parking lot between 7:00-8:30 pm. Use the same e-transfer (maisalem7257@gmail.com) and in the message indicate "PICK-UP DINNER" and the number of dinners you will need.
