Worship Team
“From this time forward I make you hear new things, hidden things that you have not known. They are created, now not long ago; before today you have never heard of them, so that you could not say, “I already knew them.” Isaiah 48: 6&7
The worship team meets prior to each liturgical season to wonder about themes that have emerged from scripture and to brainstorm ideas. We come to this time of worship planning with open hearts, and minds willing to receive inspiration. We allow scripture to speak to us new ways. We make space for God’s spirit to work creatively through the gifts of imagination and personal reflection while attempting to bring each season to life. In this process we are changed and we grow as we respond to a God who is revealed in a marvellous variety of ways.
We offer thanks to the musicians both from within and outside the congregation and also the seasonal choirs who provide the melody upon which the liturgy dances.
Throughout the year team members give their time and talents towards making sure our worship runs smoothly including providing leadership for services when necessary. A team member ensures that there are servers for each communion. Other team members prepare the table on communion Sundays. A dedicated group of readers make sure that we hear the Word clearly every Sunday and we can count on warm welcoming from our greeters.
How awesome that God entrusts to us this work not only for our nourishing and deepening, but especially for anyone who may choose to walk through our doors.
