Dear Friends,

We are delighted to share some wonderful news with you today. After much prayerful consideration and discernment, we are thrilled to announce that the Pacific Mountain Regional Council has officially approved our congregation's call of Rev. Greg Powell as our new 3/4-time permanent minister here at James Bay United Church!

This significant milestone in our journey together would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of many. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Church Board for their steadfast support throughout this process. Additionally, a special thank you goes to the PMRC for their helpful guidance and for officially approving this call.

As we welcome Rev. Greg into this role, let us celebrate the beginning of this new chapter for our church. Together, we will continue to shine the light of love, hope, and compassion in James Bay and beyond.

Thank you all for your unwavering commitment and dedication to our church. Together, we are building a future full of promise and purpose.

Don’t forget to submit your favorite hymn choices by Wednesday, August 14th! This is your chance to have your beloved hymns included in our upcoming services. If you haven't already, please send in your selections soon. Let’s make our worship together even more meaningful with the hymns that speak to your heart.

How You Can Participate:

1. Identify Your Hymns: Choose one or two hymns from the Voices United or More Voices collections that strengthen and inspire you.

2. Submit Your Choices: Drop off the hymn titles and your contact information by Wednesday, August 14. You can use the Singing Our Faith drop box in the sanctuary, or email Jennifer at music.jamesbayunited@gmail.com or Colleen at colleennichol57@icloud.com.

3. Prepare to Share: On August 25th, come ready to share in 4-5 sentences what it is about your chosen hymn that strengthens you.
