Featuring the Avram Devon McCagherty Trio, with virtuoso violinist Richard Moody and virtuoso bassist Scott White.
Avram Devon McCagherty is one of Victoria's most beloved musical treasures. A musician fluent in numerous musical styles, from his early days in folk music, Irish musical traditions, and gypsy jazz under the tutelage of legendary guitarist Marc Atkinson, to his later exploration of traditional jazz under the guidance of his friend and mentor, legendary banjo player and early jazz historian Borgy Borgeson, Avram has forged a musical identity all his own.
He is a leader of numerous musical ventures, including the beloved Capital City Syncopators, Stomp Club, and Avram McCagherty Trio, and an indispensable member of groups such as the Yiddish Columbia State Orchestra, CanUS, and more.
In this special presentation, the Avram McCagherty Trio brings together its flawless blend of personality, humour, and musicianship for a magical evening of traditional jazz.
