Pianist Toni Blodgett has been a driving force in the Ragtime and Traditional Jazz scene in Victoria for over 25 years. Originally from the Canadian prairie, Toni's unique sound has been shaped by her admiration for legendary pianists such as Teddy Wilson, Erroll Garner, and Jelly Roll Morton.

Saxophonist and clarinetist Al Pease has toured the world playing Traditional Jazz. Stationed with the prestigious NORAD band in Colorado and the Naden Band of the Pacific on the West Coast, as well as in side-man and leader roles in countless traditional jazz groups and projects.

Drawing on influences such as Lester Young, Zoot Sims, and Ben Webster on the tenor saxophone, and Benny Goodman and Woody Herman on the clarinet, Al Pease plays in the language of the 1930s and 40s swing era music with authenticity and mastery!

Joining them are bassist Joey Smith, who toured with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and many other groups before settling in Victoria and becoming an integral part of Victoria's robust musical community both as a guitar player/bassist and educator/arranger.

Drummer Kelby MacNayr honed his skills performing with the contemporary Who’s Who of jazz in Canada and the US, including Victoria's own Ian McDougall, Louise Rose, and Neil Swainson, as well as international stars like Ingrid Jensen, John Clayton, and Larry Fuller.

Don't miss this opportunity to be transported by the sounds of jazz history, performed with passion and mastery by these extraordinary musicians.
