At Tuesday Night Jazz, we love bringing together exciting and inspiring combinations of musicians and instruments, and this coming Tuesday is no exception!

Featuring not one but two trombone players, this week's lineup brings together legendary performers with a deep respect for each other's playing and a shared love of swing music.

Trombonist Brad Shigeta is a Canadian jazz legend, having moved to New York City to start what became a storied career performing with the likes of Dave Holland, Wynton Marsalis, Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, and the legacy big bands of the Count Basie Orchestra and the Duke Ellington Orchestra, among many others!

Now recently relocated to Canada’s West Coast, based in Vancouver and Seattle, Brad Shigeta makes a special trip to Victoria to reunite with some longtime musical friends.

Special guest trombonist Bryce Gilhome is among the most respected trombonists around, having earned a reputation as a beautiful and lyrical soloist, a flawless ensemble player with a gorgeous sound and spirit.

Originally from Australia, Bryce joined the stable of musicians in Victoria and Vancouver for a few years before moving back home. During his travels in North America, we were able to catch Bryce for this special concert!

Also joining us this Tuesday is renowned Vancouver bass player Noah Gotfrit! Well-loved in Vancouver’s thriving swing music scene, we are delighted to bring Noah for his Tuesday Night Jazz debut, joining house piano favorite Dr. Tony Genge and drummer Kelby MacNayr.

Join us for a fabulous night of musical mayhem, chemistry, and swing music featuring special guests Brad Shigeta and Bryce Gilhome!
