WE ARE VERY EXCITED to be co-hosting the morning Church Service in the Park along with the Capital Unitarian Universalist Congregation of James Bay. The service will be a non-denominational celebration to create a welcoming space for all the activities of the James Bay Neighbourhood Picnic at Irving Part that day. Join the group gathered at the park. Sing, dance, lift your spirits.

This from Reverend Karen Dickey.

Sunday’s coming.  And the forecast is brilliant for the neighbourhood picnic in the park.
It will be a casual affair ... though there’s been NOTHING casual about the preparations.
You’d think we were preparing for the Great Wedding Feast ...
and truth be told, a taste of that awaits us, as we gather with friends and neighbours,
for anything can happen at a picnic.   (Check out Matthew 14: 13-21)

And then there’s this, to help ready us for the day ...

Hello, sun in my face.
Hello, you who make the morning
and spread it over the fields
and into the faces of tulips
and the nodding morning glories,
and into the windows of, even, the
miserable and the crotchety --

best preacher that ever was,
dear star, that just happens
to be where you are in the universe
to keep us from ever-darkness,
to ease us with warm touching,
to hold us in the great hands of light--
good morning, good morning, good morning.

Watch, now, how I start the day
in happiness, in kindness.

Hoping to see you in the park,
Karen
