Singing in Harmony Workshop

I’m excited to announce a new initiative to expand our Music Ministry here at James Bay United Church: the Singing in Harmony Workshop Series! This workshop is designed to be a fun, enriching experience for both our congregation and the broader community. In these workshops, we’ll focus on basic singing techniques and practice harmonizing through simple sung responses and rounds. Many of the songs will be familiar, drawn from folk traditions as well as More Voices and Voices United.

My hope is to deepen your musical experience by offering simple tools to make singing feel easy and boost your confidence in singing in harmony. This workshop is perfect for all levels, especially those who love to sing but want to grow their confidence in a safe, supportive environment. No singing experience is necessary.

The first Singing in Harmony Workshop will take place on Sunday, November 10th, from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM in the JBUC Sanctuary. If you are coming from the Sunday morning service, I suggest bringing a bagged lunch to eat beforehand.
