The movie is 'Their Finest', about the British surviving the Blizkrieg in 1941, and it surprises by being, by turns funny, and sparkling, then deeply poignant.
Terrific performances. It's about a bumbling small film-company being tasked to make a movie that will buck up people's morale, and possibly talk the Americans into coming into the war.
It won quite a few awards in 2017; up for best movie in the British Film Awards; and Bill Nighy, whom a lot of us know from the movie 'Pride' and the 'Harry Potter series' as one of the wizards, won best actor award for playing an arrogant, foppish over-the-hill actor.
